WWE icon Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, has passed away at the age of 71. Hogan was found in his Clearwater, Florida, home early on the morning of Thursday, July 24, 2025—where he is said to have suffered a cardiac arrest.

Coming from humble beginnings in Port Tampa, Florida, he managed to break into the professional wrestling scene in the late seventies, where he took the world by storm.

One of the most recognizable public figures, with his blond horseshoe moustache and colorful bandanas, Hogan’s presence will be greatly missed in the ring and beyond.

Hogan signed with the World Wrestling Federation, now known as WWE, in 1983, and quickly gained popularity, helping to bring professional wrestling to mainstream attention.

After becoming a five-time WWF Champion and launching a global industry, Hogan decided to pursue a career in film and television, taking a notable role in 1982’s Rocky III.

However, wrestling remained his primary endeavor, as he continued to ride the cultural phenomenon sparked by Hulkamania in the 1980s, throughout the remainder of his life.

Later in 2007, Hogan starred in the hit reality show Hogan Knows Best with his then-wife, Linda Hogan, and their children, Brooke and Nick Hogan, who survive him, along with his third wife, Sky Daily, and two grandchildren.

My Life Outside the Ring

By Hulk Hogan

Before Hulk Hogan became an internationally successful wrestler, he worked as a dock and construction worker for his father in Port Tampa, Florida. But through sheer willpower, he was able to become one of the most recognizable figures on the planet, thanks to his WWE stardom.

But, outside of the spotlight, Hogan underwent numerous hardships, from steroid abuse and his falling out with WWE. And during the height of his reality show, Hogan Knows Best, he was reeling from his son’s near-death car accident and his wife, Linda, leaving him after two decades of marriage.

In My Life Outside the Ring, Hogan reflects on what it was like to live in the public eye and how he managed to emerge from struggles, stronger than ever.
