As book lovers, we enjoy days at the beach because they're the perfect way to get a lot of reading in. The noise of the waves, the warmth of the sun, the feel of sand between your toes—it all makes for the perfect way to spend a few hours (or more!) getting lost in a good book.
However, if you're going to spend the whole day at the beach, you're going to need more than a towel! Below are all of our beach day essentials for book lovers.

Even if you enjoy laying in the sand, it's always nice to at least have the option of back support when you're spending all day reading at the beach. We especially like this beach chair because it has shoulder straps, meaning you can wear it like a back pack when toting your belongings to and from your beach spot.
Insulated Tumbler
Staying hydrated at the beach is always important! And by packing a re-useable tumbler instead of multiple drinks, you can save space and take advantage of free water fountains for refills. Win-win!

Portable Beach Umbrella
If you're going to be reading hundreds of pages of the newest thriller or steamy romance, then you're going to need more than sunblock to keep yourself protected from UV rays. This umbrella will keep you shaded, plus it comes with a convenient carrying bag.
Kindle Paperwhite
Believe it or not, eReaders can be better suited for the beach than regular books! While a paperback may not fair well if splashed, the Kindle Paperwhite is waterproof—it'll be okay in 2 meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes, and .25 meters of seawater for up to 3 minutes. You also don't need to worry about glare, and can easily switch to listening to your book if you have Audible, too.
