Emmy-winning producer Mike Henneberger has announced that Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf, Jane the Virgin, Five North) will be voicing the audiobook for his #1 Best Selling punk biography.
Rock Bottom at the Renaissance navigates the dark passageways of Henneberger’s intoxicated and inebriated mind as he isolates himself in a hotel room for three days. The memoir retraces Henneberger’s difficult and unstable childhood, his minor successes, and his time in the US Army. The notion that his sense of confidence and purpose is nothing but a delusion drives him deeper into chemical dependence and mental illness.
Alone in New York City, he clings to the idea of finding ‘the one’ to complete him, and must agonizingly reconcile with himself that happiness cannot be found from an outward source, but from within himself. His lifelong relationship with music serves not only as an anchor to help Henneberger pull through his own personal hell, but also as a running soundtrack through the book’s chapters. He hopes, within his pages, to inspire those who need help getting through their own dark periods in their life.

On selecting the person who will be the voice of his memoir, Henneberger knew he wanted both Latino representation and someone who could make the book feel like it was about not just him, but everyone who struggles with depression, anxiety, and heartbreak. He knew of Tyler Posey from his starring role in MTV’s hit horror-drama series, Teen Wolf, and also knew that he played in multiple pop punk bands over the years. What Henneberger didn’t know was that Posey actively spoke out about the mental issues he struggled with, and it seemed like fate.
For Posey’s part, the book means a great deal to him. On his ability to relate deeply to the message he would like his reading to convey, he said, “I connected to every single line in this book. I’m putting all of my experience into my voice for these moments.”
